Aims and Scope

Octa Journal of Environmental Research, an international journal, is a journal for the publication of peer reviewed, original research for all aspects of environmental sciences, such as Environmental Chemistry, Biology, Ecology, Physics and Geosciences, Environmental Pollution and Soil Conservation, Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology, Resource quality, quantity and Sustainability, Environmental Genomics and Proteomics, Environmental Impact Assessment, Ecotoxicology and Ecological Risk Assessment and Management, Bioremediation, Gene-Environment interactions, Health Risk Assessment and Management, Natural resources Damage Assessment, Emerging issues in Environmental Health and Diseases, Environmental education and Public Health, Improved Energy Efficiency, Ecology and Biodiversity, etc. It is devoted to publishing original, peer-reviewed research papers. Appropriate subjects include basic and applied research on atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic environments, pollution control and abatement technology, and conservation of natural resources, environmental health and toxicology. Announcements of national/international environmental meetings/conferences and other recent information are also included. The objectives are to report on the latest research achievements and developments; to strengthen academic exchanges; to promote cooperation in science and technology and to contribute to the progress in environmental research. The OJER provide forum for the advancement of interdisciplinary approaches to the study of the coupled human-nature systems.

The Journal offers a peer-reviewed, academically rigorous and professionally recognized venue for the publication of explicitly interdisciplinary environmental research, educational discourse and other related matters. Contributions are welcome from any discipline or combination of disciplines, any vocation or professional affiliation, any national, ethnic or cultural background. These contributions should explicitly involve multi-disciplinary or trans-disciplinary aspects of environmental issues and identify the ways in which the work will contribute to environmental research in thrust area or related activities.

Type of Contributions

The Journal provides several submission categories:

  1. Research Articles:An Article for papers reporting the results of completed definite studies. If several closely related manuscripts are being prepared at about the same time, all should be submitted together. Articles of high scientific quality and originality that are of interest to the wide and diverse readership of the Journal will be given priority for publication.
  2. Communications: Theyare intended for the rapid and timely publication of original research of significance. Communications are short contributions not exceeding three printed pages in length.
  3. Reviews: Articles deal with topics of current interest in areas relating to environmental sciences. Rather than an assemblage of detailed information with a complete literature survey, a critically selected treatment of the material is desired. Unsolved problems and possible developments should also be discussed. Review articles are generally written upon invitation of the Chief Editor.
  4. Book Reviews: Concise reviews of newly published books or more extended essays combining a review of several books with a discussion of issues raised by the collective publications not exceeding one printed page.
  5. Special Issues and Symposia: A collection of related articles or other materials relevant to environmental issues, edited by one or more authors who provide coherence by clarifying the importance and relationship among the materials. We also encourage publishing the proceedings of conference, symposia, seminar related to environment. Proposals may involve whole Journal issues or portions of an issue.
  6. Letter to Editor: Communications relating to significant issues for readers, which can concern previously published Journal material not exceeding one printed page.

Submissions are encouraged from individuals at all levels of professional development. The Editorial Board includes a diverse range of scholars and persons from related professions whose expertise extends broadly across the sciences, social sciences, humanities, the professions, and other disciplines related to environmental study. We encourage contributors unsure about the appropriateness of their manuscript for the Journal to send a title and abstract to the Editor-in-Chief (editorojer@gmail.com) for initial evaluation.
