For the inhibition of thriving of any kind of pathogenic or harmful microorganisms and for increasing various barrier properties of any food products, and for increasing the quality of any food product, different kind of edible coating layers are generally used in different food industries. Different type of edible coatings which have the antimicrobial properties in them helps prevent or reduce the growth of pathogenic or harmful microorganisms and help to enhance shelf life for that food or food product.
