Conflict of interest

All authors are requested to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of beginning the submitted work that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, their work.

Submission declaration

Submission of an article entails that the work described has not been published previously in any journal and also, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form in any language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright-holder.

Changes to authorship

This policy concerns the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship of accepted manuscripts:

Before the accepted manuscript is published online: Requests to add or remove an author or to rearrange the author names, must be sent to the editor-in-chief from the corresponding author of the accepted manuscript and must include: (a) the reason the name should be added or removed, or the author names rearranged and (b) written confirmation (e-mail, fax, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.

After publication online: Any requests to add, delete, or rearrange author names in an article published in an online issue will not be accepted.

Copyright

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a Journal Publishing Agreement. Acceptance of the agreement will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a 'Journal Publishing Agreement' form. If excerpts from other copyrighted works are included, the author(s) must obtain written permission from the copyright owners and credit the source(s) in the article.

Retained author rights

As an author you (or your employer or institution) retains certain rights^*.

Role of the funding source

You are requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article and to briefly describe the role of the sponsor(s), if any, in study design; in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data; in the writing of the report; and in the decision to submit the article for publication. If the funding source(s) had no such involvement then this should be stated.

Open access

This journal does not have any publication charges and open for all access online.

Referees

Please submit, with the manuscript, the names and addresses of at least two potential referees, but we prefer four to six referees.

 2. PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS

The Title should clearly and accurately indicate the contents of the Articles or Communications and should be expressed in adequate scientific terms. No abbreviations should be used in the titles.

Affiliations of authors should be placed below the author’s name accordingly.

An information should be included on the first page to give the mail address, phone number and e-mail address of the author of correspondence, and if applicable, information regarding funding.

Abstract

A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, References should be avoided, but if essential, then cite the author(s) and year(s). Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

Keywords:

Three to six Keywordsshould be given at the bottom of the abstract to serve as guidelines for indexing.

Headings: Articles should be organized under the main headings:

Introduction, Experimental, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements and References.

Acknowledgements

Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references and do not, therefore, include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, writing assistance or proof reading the article, etc.).

Tables and Figures must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals respectively and should be self-explanatory. Tables should be concise and exact and should use three-lines. Tables must have a brief descriptive title and include footnotes if necessary. Figures should have figure captions, either with the figures or collected on a separate sheet. The contents of figures, tables and word descriptions should not be duplicated.

Photographs should be of sufficiently high quality with respect to detail and contrast.

 References

(Kumar and Dhatwalia, 2012a, b) - More than one paper in the same year by the same authors

References should be arranged alphabetically by author without serial numbering. Titles of journal should be abbreviated in accordance. Reference accuracy is critical and authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references. Only articles that have been published should be included in the References. Journal articles and books must be cited by the following formats:

Graphic for the Slide. This illustration should capture the reader’s attention and, in conjunction with the manuscript title, should give the reader a quick visual impression of the essence of the paper without providing specific results.  The graphic should be in the form of a images (Original not Copy write or Downloaded from internet) structure, graph, drawing, electrophoresis gel, or reaction scheme. Authors must submit a graphic in the actual size to be used for the graphic that will fit in Dimensions: 460 × 300. Larger images will be reduced to fit within those dimensions. Type size of labels, formulas, or numbers within the graphic must be legible. Tables or spectra are not acceptable. Color is encouraged. Authors must provide the graphic upon submission of the paper as the last page of the manuscript.

 4. REVIEWING OF MANUSCRIPTS

Every manuscript is independently reviewed by peers. If two or more reviewers consider the manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement for the decision will be sent to authors within one or two months of the submitting date. Manuscripts rejected will not be returned to the authors.

Proofs

One set of page proofs (as PDF files) will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Please use this proof only for checking the typesetting, editing, completeness and correctness of the text, tables and figures. Significant changes to the article as accepted for publication will only be considered at this stage with permission from the Editor. We will do everything possible to get your article published quickly and accurately. It is important to ensure that all corrections are sent back to us in one communication, please check carefully before replying, as inclusion of any subsequent corrections cannot be guaranteed. Proofreading is solely your responsibility.

 5. REVISION OF MANUSCRIPTS

A manuscript sent back to an author for revision should be returned to the editor without delay within seven days.

6. ACCEPTANCE OF MANUSCRIPTS

The corresponding author, at no cost, will be provided with a PDF file of the article via email (the PDF file includes a cover sheet with the journal cover image and a disclaimer outlining the terms and conditions of use).

7. Fees and Charges: There is no publication and handling fee in Octa Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology. Publication in this journal is free of cost.
